Sunday School Contest!

Resurrection Sunday to Pentecost Sunday

To commemorate and celebrate Resurrection Sunday and Pentecost Sunday, as well as all the days and events in between,  CAC is holding a seven-week (eight Sundays) Sunday School contest! Join CAC in this wonderful period to renew yourself in Jesus Christ, strengthen or establish yourself in more regular church attendance, and reach out to your lost friends and family to encourage them to have faith, repent of their sins, be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, and be filled with the Spirit of God, with the evidence of speaking in tongues just as the apostles and disciples did in the Book of Acts, chapter two.

Kids! Win a Razor Electric Scooter!

Parents! Blue versus Gold rematch!

To earn Scooter Points, get people to come to church with you. Invite your friends and their parents to come with you on Sunday mornings, for Sunday School, during the eight Sundays from Resurrection Sunday (Easter), April 11, 2004, through and including Pentecost Sunday (Whitsunday), May 30, 2004! For more details, click here. Your guests count either 20 pts, 30 pts, or 50 pts, depending on whether they've ever been here before, and how long ago ( see rules). Whatever point value they earn is locked in for the duration of the contest. There are more prizes for runners up, but the kid earning the most Scooter Points will ride away on the electric Scooter on May 30, 2004!More details.

Your kids' Scooter Points will also benefit your efforts to win in the rematch of Blue Team versus Gold Team for the church-wide Sunday School Contest! Click here now to see which team you and your family are on. Each member counts 10 points when present on each Sunday morning during the contest (we'll also hold kids' Scooter Points scores separately). Guests count either 20 pts, 30 pts, or 50 pts, depending on whether they've ever been here before, and how long ago (pt break at start of year). Whatever point value they earn is locked in for the duration of the contest. Bible studies taught to your guests bring a 500 point bonus! For contest goals, rules, and details, click here.

Resurrection Sunday (Easter)

Pentecost Sunday (Whitsunday)

Join CAC in celebrating the single most pivotal event in all of world history: The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, three days after His crucifixion, is the most central event in the foundation of all Christianity. Only because Jesus was indeed God manifest in Christ as a fully human man could He truly have risen from the dead. The message of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection is the Gospel (Good News) of the only true Savior of men. This greatest event of all time paved the way for us to one day be raised from the dead by our Lord. Thanks to Him, death is only a doorway to Paradise for those who believe and obey Him.

Also foundational to Christianity is the subsequent outpouring of the Holy Spirit (a.k.a. Spirit of God/Christ/Lord Jesus) on those who believe in Jesus and ask for God's Holy Spirit. The initial outpouring occurred fifty days after the resurrection of Christ, on the ancient Jewish festival called the "feast of weeks" or Pentecost (see Exodus 34:22 and Deuteronomy 16:10). Whitsunday is a name used on some calendars because of the white garments which were worn by some who were baptized in a vigil during the holiday; Pentecost is Greek for "the fiftieth" (as in, the fiftieth day after the Resurrection/Easter).
